Today we had a going away lunch for Kenji. We celebrated by eating over at Shik Do Rak in Irvine.

Here comes the beginning of the end.

Going back

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

This DJ by Warren G was one of those classic songs that put West Coast hip hop on the map with his style and sound. Everyone knows the song, but everyone forgets the video. Let us take a stroll down memory lane shall we. Check out the the effects and time put into the video, George Lucas has nothing on this videos transitions. Watch the key moments in the video from :10 - :17 you get to see the many warren g’s especially with him staring at you for the last transition. The other 2 highlights would be 2:15 with the deep voice guy adding some street cred and at 2:33 for an ab transition. I would really like to see the storyboard to this video it must have been insane.

The Crosby

Friday, September 11th, 2009

I met up with my older brother tonight at the Crosby. We were discussing you know the usual government policies, state of our economy, and what is next for our future. Nope not really we were actually going over the new Rockband Beatles edition and what we both have been up to lately. My brother Alex works at method studios as a 3D visual effects artist and is always working on some top secret project even I have to check his blog to see what he’s been up to.

The Crosby is known for their relaxed atmosphere, food, and nice play list. Their mango ceviche was pretty good and had a nice twist being served in wonton cups.

The shrimp pasta is a good choice and adding chicken to it ain’t half bad.

Lunch Time

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

We always have a problem with lunch at work. We start off our day by asking each other “What do you want to eat?” This went on today until 3pm. Everyone at work has been working extra hard. I’m pretty sure you can tell from Mikey’s face.

So using the yelp on the iphone I found this little spot called El Tapatio.

Kenji and I found it awkward that they are selling these limited edition sunglasses that aren’t even in shops yet. Get them at El Tapatio. Mikey always makes me look great in the photos he takes of me. I like looking like a confused idiot.

This place has a banquet room with a nice back patio. The food is ok a little on the pricey side for the amount you get. I recommend the Chile Verde it was tender and the sauce had a good consistency.

Sneaky Sneaky!

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

Part 2 of the sneak peeks is here. Remember, September is pretty much here, so don’t sleep!

This first piece is for the ladies. Along with the Puppet Master tee, the special women in our lives can enjoy cakedout too with a logo tee that goes along with the P.Rod 3 colorways.

Next is the Forever Young tee. The concept behind this one is simple: every generation will take aspects from their prime and take it to the grave. Can you believe that the kids nowadays are going to be listening to Lil Wayne when they’re 70?! Ridiculous…

“Dude She’s got a quato”

Congrats to Brian Kwon from San Francisco California for having the winning caption. We chose this caption because not only was it funny, but he referenced one of my favorite movies “Total Recall”. For those that haven’t seen it it is one of Arnold’s best movies.

Here’s a Quato for those that haven’t seen it.

City of Angels

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

The design team took an early morning trip to LA to begin planning out our 2010 collection. Luckily we didn’t hit any traffic and we were early to all our appointments. Since we got to LA early we decided to get breakfast at Farmerboys. It started out good, but as I’m typing up this post it has not treated my stomach well. I had the breakfast burrito that was tasty, but as I won the battle the burrito won the war.

I should have know something was up when our order number was 13.

For those that have to deal with traffic on a daily basis this man shares the same problems. I found this off of Lerche’s Blog
