Hong Kong Recap

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

Finally back in the states and still getting adjusted to the time. Mostly when people go to Hong Kong they go to the night market, shopping, and eating. Well I did all three, but you can only do that for so long. I recommend to go sight seeing especially when a lot of the gardens and temples are free. One of the temples that caught my eye was when I visited Shan Men ( also known as mountain gate) and for a breathtaking view of the city taking a bus up to Victoria Peak is your best bet.

Here are some pictures from my plates from the Marriot Buffet. It equals Vegas and surpasses a lot of the one’s there *cough* *cough* RIO.

Yes I ate all of this, but it’s not a vacation if you don’t go all out.

Have to eat a little healthy

I also sang a little bit while I was over there. The karaoke experience is a lot better than in the states, but the problem is limited selection in English. Luckily if you want to sing some Ja Rule you can HOLLA HOLLA.

Shan Men (Mountain Gate) - Shan Men translates to the “three gates”, referring to Buddhist wisdom, compassion, faith, understanding and practice, the important methods to gain liberation.

If you ever stop in Hong Kong you should stop by Victoria Peak grab a bite and take in the view.

Ocean Park

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

Just got in Hong Kong and boy am I tired. Sitting on a plane for a good 15 hours without getting any sleep is not a good mix. Well after arriving and getting some rest I started my day off by visiting the Chinese version of Sea World. To me the best feature of this park is the pandas. I got to see the red panda or “fire fox” which shares features of a bear and raccoon.

Red Panda

Just like the panda this is what I’ll be doing the rest of the trip.

I love it even half way around the world someone put up a quote from “Tropic Thunder”

Seeing the pandas was probably the best part of the park because the rides here, although the scenery was nice on the roller coaster pretty much doesn’t compare to Disneyland/ Six Flags standard.
